Willow Canyon hasn't had much luck against Centennial recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Coyotes at 11:00 a.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Willow Canyon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Alhambra 4-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

KJ Kovaly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Cameron Davidson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Centennial posted their closest win since March 4th last Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Willow Canyon, sneaking past 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Coyotes in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won nine in a row.
JT Price made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Price was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other pitching news, Joseph Talas looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Bobby Villa III, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Liu Rodriguez Jr, who earned two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
Centennial pushed their record up to 18-8 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Willow Canyon, their record is now 20-9.
Willow Canyon couldn't quite finish off Centennial in their previous matchup last Thursday and fell 5-3. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
