Frankton has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Blackford Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
On Tuesday, Frankton was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to Yorktown.
Meanwhile, Blackford can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They breezed by Anderson Prep Academy at home to the tune of 58-19. Given Blackford's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Anderson Prep Academy is ranked 286th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Blackford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chloe Wicker led the charge by going 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wicker has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sydnee Morris, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Frankton's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Blackford, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-5.
Frankton lost to Blackford on the road by a decisive 65-50 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Frankton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
