St. Helena has gone 8-2 against Kelseyville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Saints are taking a road trip to square off against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Helena has four straight victories, Kelseyville has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
If St. Helena beats Kelseyville with 11 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Saints put the hurt on Cloverdale with a sharp 11-1 win on Wednesday. Considering the Saints have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Tahlia Smith made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, St. Helena let Ada Blanton and Ellie Carmichael run wild. Blanton went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Carmichael scored two runs while going 1-for-3. What's more, Carmichael posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Caelyn Farrell also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Kelseyville came up short against Healdsburg on Saturday, falling 10-2. The game marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
St. Helena pushed their record up to 8-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Kelseyville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Kelseyville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Helena hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. It's a different story for Kelseyville, though, as they've only averaged .203. Will they be able to contain St. Helena's hitters?
St. Helena skirted past Kelseyville 7-5 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
