In what's become a running theme this season, the Southeastern Local Trojans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 59-27 win over Madison Plains at home. Given Southeastern Local's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while Madison Plains is ranked 598th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the defeat, Madison Plains saw an underclassman step up: Kenzie Vallery scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 44.4% of Madison Plains' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Southeastern Local's win bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Madison Plains, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeastern Local will take on Greenon at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Madison Plains will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Catholic Central at 12:45 p.m. on January 20th.
