The Pomperaug Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the New Milford Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The pair were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought game, but Pomperaug had to settle for a 56-54 defeat against Masuk.
Meanwhile, New Milford's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Joel Barlow by a score of 54-51.
New Milford's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ryan Esposito, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds, and Jack Balzi who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals. Esposito is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played.
Pomperaug's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for New Milford, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Everything came up roses for Pomperaug against New Milford in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 75-48 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pomperaug since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
