Betsy Layne lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tanner Martin, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Kidd, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Floyd Central's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11. As for Betsy Layne, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Floyd Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Letcher County Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kentucky (Letcher County Central is ranked 91st, while Floyd Central is ranked 114th). As for Betsy Layne, they will head out on the road to square off against Johnson Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnson Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 194 points over their last three matchups.
