The Cheektowaga Warriors will head out on the road to take on the West Seneca East Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cheektowaga's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
On January 6th, Cheektowaga beat South Park by the very same score they won with last week: 65-47.
West Seneca East suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Pioneer 70-36. While losing is never fun, West Seneca East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 794th, while Pioneer is ranked 177th).
West Seneca East's loss came about despite a quality game from Jason Jasinski, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Devon Madding, who scored eight points.
Cheektowaga's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for West Seneca East, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
Cheektowaga didn't have too much breathing room in their match against West Seneca East when the teams last played back in February of 2022, but they still walked away with a 51-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cheektowaga since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
