After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Millbrook, the Wakefield Wolverines were happy to have found some success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 71-54 victory over Heritage. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wakefield also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Leading Wakefield to victory were Syncere Burnette and Dylan Goodknecht. Burnette dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists, while Goodknecht scored 16 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Goodknecht grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Taj Boone-Chambers, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Heritage's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jon Mwanda, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Levi Beckwith was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
Wakefield's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Heritage, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7.
