The Caldwell County Tigers entered their tilt with the Dawson Springs Panthers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Caldwell County strolled past the Panthers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 53-38. That's another feather in the cap for Caldwell County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Montgomery Johnston, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Johnston hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Rex Blue was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Caldwell County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Dawson Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.
Caldwell County will head out on the road to challenge the Maroons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dawson Springs, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Falcons at 2:00 p.m. on February 3rd.
