Baseball Recap: Meadowcreek Sets Scoring Season-High Against Berkmar

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Meadowcreek). Everything went their way against the Berkmar Patriots on Thursday as they made off with a 31-13 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Mustangs with their most commanding win of the season.

Dylan Piner was a standout: he got on base in all seven of his plate appearances with five runs, three RBI, and one double. Meadowcreek is 3-1 when Piner posts two or more runs, but 0-16 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Eduardo Alaniz, who got on base in all six of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

Meadowcreek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win (which was Meadowcreek's third in a row) raised their record to 3-17. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 22.0 runs over those games. As for Berkmar, they dropped their record down to 0-20 with the loss, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Meadowcreek nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
