Peak to Peak is 2-8 against Colorado Academy since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Pumas will face off against the Mustangs at 10:00 a.m. Peak to Peak is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Peak to Peak lost a heartbreaker the last time they played The Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's matchup. The Pumas blew past the Wildcats 8-1 on Thursday. Considering the Pumas have won three contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Cooper Campbell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Dane Hirt was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Peak to Peak: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-4 otherwise. Jacob Strong also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Peak to Peak was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The Academy only posted a batting average of .208.
Meanwhile, Colorado Academy won against Prospect Ridge Academy on Tuesday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Miners. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.
Like Peak to Peak, Colorado Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Charlie Rakowski. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Rakowski was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kieran Delaney, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.
Colorado Academy's record is now 7-1. As for Peak to Peak, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Peak to Peak has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Colorado Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
