The Windermere Wolverines will take on the Winter Park Wildcats in a tournament on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Windermere: 2.3, Winter Park: 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Windermere is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Freedom 16-1 on Monday. With that win, the Wolverines brought their scoring average up to 7.3 runs per game.

Connor Fink looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jose Calzadilla, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Randy Ruiz was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
Windermere always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Winter Park was able to grind out a solid victory over Horizon on Tuesday, taking the game 5-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.
Chase Carney tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero).
At the plate, Carter Smith was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jacob Butts, who went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
Windermere's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Winter Park, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Windermere skirted past Winter Park 3-2 in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. Does Windermere have another victory up their sleeve, or will Winter Park turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
