The Whitharral Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 22 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Dalhart with a sharp 55-32 victory on Friday. The win was familiar territory for Whitharral who now have eight in a row.
Whitharral found their leader in underclassman Paige Smith, who scored 22 points along with six steals. The match was Smith's 17th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Chavez, who scored seven points along with eight assists and six steals.
Whitharral's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. As for Dalhart, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.
Whitharral will head out on the road to face off against Cotton Center at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cotton Center comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Dalhart will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Reagan County at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th. Reagan County is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
