McLaurin extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region 6 this week by beating Morton, 65-48. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
St. Andrews Episcopal took down Strider Academy 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Johnathan Taylor threw for 156 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 16 yards in the win.
The Panthers' dynamic duo of Jymier Slocum and Devonta Jones proved tough for McLaurin to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Slocum threw for 344 yards and three touchdowns and Jones had 167 yards receiving. Monta Bowie helped Morton's passing attack out by catching six balls for 149 yards.
Eric McGee was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 30 carries, he ran for 243 yards as Marc Herrington's team lost to Marc Herrington's team. Corderius Davis also contributed to the rushing game with 115 yards on the ground.
Miles Porter's team's Slocum and Jones have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Slocum has thrown for 1275 yards this season, while Jones, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 25 catches for 592 yards. Forest's Chris Mazique leads the league in rushing yards with 725.
A big matchup in 3A Region 6 this week will be when Raleigh takes on the Tigers. As it stands, the Lions are in fourth, while McLaurin is in first.
The Tigers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 65 points on the Panthers. McGee caught one passes for seven yards in the win.
