A Season-Best Performance from Brandon Figueroa Leads Irvine over Canyon
Brandon Figueroa produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Irvine to the win on Thursday. Figueroa rushed for 335 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 18.6 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 94-yard run.
Unfortunately for Canyon, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Figueroa. When Figueroa last faced the Comanches back in August of 2023, he rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns.

Olin Morales Hyder's Rushing Yards a New Career-High
Sonora came up short on Friday despite Olin Morales Hyder delivering his best game to date. Morales Hyder rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also picked up 30 receiving yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards.
Sonora now has a losing record at 3-4. Morales Hyder and Sonora will take on Santa Ana at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Jack Mckelvy Goes Supernova in El Toro Win
Jack Mckelvy posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 193 yards and two touchdowns.
This season, Mckelvy has thrown 17 touchdowns while averaging 193.7 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 58.71 passing yards per game.

Rudy Alcala Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Friday, Troy got the W thanks in part to Rudy Alcala playing the best football he has all season. Alcala threw for 271 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes.
