Pequot - South recap November 13, 2013
Valley Regional/Old Lyme added to the longest winning streak in Pequot - South this week by beating Cromwell, 49-2. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Hyde Leadership and Lyman Hall played the closest game in the league this week, with Hyde Leadership eventually emerging with a 19-14 victory. Ronnie Freeman ran for 213 yards and caught 1 pass for 12 yards in the win.
Freeman was a beast in the backfield as the Howling Wolves beat the Trojans.
Freeman provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Hyde Leadership topped Lyman Hall.
Phil Cohen threw for 123 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Chris Jean-Pierre was the best wideout in the league this week as Valley Regional/Old Lyme defeated the Panthers. Jean-Pierre tallied 3 receptions for 64 yards. David Peck helped Valley Regional/Old Lyme's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 51 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Austin Calamita. The North Branford star has 24 catches for 619 yards.
An important game coming up in Pequot - South this week will be when North Branford takes on Coginchaug Regional. As it stands, the Thunderbirds are in fourth, while the Blue Devils are in third.
