There's no place like home for The Tahoka Bulldogs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They blew past Sundown 42-14 at home. For Tahoka, this counts as revenge for the 39-26 defeat Sundown walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tahoka to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zane Garvin, who rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Brogan Stone was another key contributor, throwing for 191 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes.
Tahoka's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 4-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.0 points per game. As for Sundown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
Tahoka will be playing in front of their home fans against Panhandle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Panhandle presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tahoka in Texas (Panhandle is ranked 342nd, while Tahoka is ranked 1014th). As for Sundown, they will take on Stratford at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Stratford is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
