Ogdensburg Free Academy and the Raiders are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Ogdensburg Free Academy Blue Devils will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Massena Raiders at 12:30 p.m. on February 5th. Ogdensburg Free Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 657th, while the Raiders are ranked 277th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 59-32, which was the final score in Ogdensburg Free Academy's tilt against the Pirates two weeks ago.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Massena ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past South Jefferson 55-53.
Taylor Mitchell and Colin Patterson were among the main playmakers for Massena as the former scored 16 points along with six rebounds and six steals and the latter scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Patterson has scored all season.
Ogdensburg Free Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Massena, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Ogdensburg Free Academy took a serious blow against the Raiders in their previous matchup back in January, falling 64-34. Can Ogdensburg Free Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
