Bethany Christian's loss came about despite a quality game from Zoe Willems, who scored 22 points along with two steals. That was a full 75.9% of Bethany Christian's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Fairfield didn't have too much trouble with Westview at home on Friday as they won 51-35. Given Fairfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Westview is ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bethany Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-5 record this season. As for Fairfield, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-3.
