Softball Recap: Staunton Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Staunton won the last time they faced Vandalia and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Vandals by a score of 10-6. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly four runs.

Staunton let Lilly Bandy and Korryn Keehner run wild. Bandy went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Keehner went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Keehner has posted since back in March. Izzy Janus was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Staunton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Vandalia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Staunton will square off against Hillsboro at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hiltoppers have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
