Moundridge had trouble last Friday, and unfortunately for them, their opponent this week is a big step up in difficulty. Hodgeman County and Moundridge go head to head on Thursday at 7:00 PM in their first playoff match of the year. Moundridge are the clear underdogs, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one.
It's was a good run, but Hodgeman County finally witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak. It was close but no cigar for Hodgeman County as they fell 26-28 to Ness City. Hodgeman County's loss came about despite a quality game from junior Eli Salmans, who rushed for 268 yards and 3 touchdowns. If you haven't heard Salmans's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past eight games.
Meanwhile, don't be fooled by the insanely high score: we promise Little River and Moundridge were playing football. Moundridge fell just short of Little River by a score of 46-48. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Moundridge.
Having both suffered close losses, both of these teams will no doubt be fighting for every inch to win this one. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
