The Palm Bay Pirates will head out to face off against the Titusville Terriers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Tuesday, Palm Bay got the win against Calvary Chapel Academy by a conclusive 12-2. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Palm Bay let Jacob Hines and Keiran Cummings run wild. Hines scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Cummings scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Palm Bay is 5-1 when Hines posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Timothy Owens, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Palm Bay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Titusville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Space Coast 17-7 on Tuesday. With that victory, the Terriers brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Chase Hill made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacob Bercaw, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
Titusville pushed their record up to 6-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Palm Bay, their record now sits at 10-7.
Palm Bay's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. The Pirates have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Titusville, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Palm Bay continue to outrun the ball?
Palm Bay suffered a grim 11-4 defeat to Titusville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
