South Bend Saint Joseph hasn't had much luck against Lafayette Central Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Jimmy Fox looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Joe Washburn was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Owen Futa, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, while Lafayette Central Catholic put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Attica. The Knights were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Red Ramblers. Considering the Knights have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lafayette Central Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, their record is now 15-2.

South Bend Saint Joseph might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Lafayette Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Huskies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
