This season hasn't been kind to The Cibola Raiders, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They were beaten by Westview 52-12 on Friday. Cibola was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Westview apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Westview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nathan Franklin out in front who rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Franklin is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Addarius Miles and his 82 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Westview's win.
Cibola's loss was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.8 points per game. As for Westview, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.
Cibola will be playing in front of their home fans against North Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Canyon has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25th. As for Westview, they will head out on the road to face off against Kellis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kellis is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
