Dover hasn't had much luck against Londonderry recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Green Wave will challenge the Lancers at 4:00 p.m. Dover is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Dover is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Monday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of Winnacunnet.

Dover got a good showing from Jeanna Martel, who struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off six hits. Martel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mackenzie Curry made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Mollie Smith also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Londonderry put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their undefeated season alive. They never let Manchester Central get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.
Allison Chambers was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Normand, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Londonderry's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Dover, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dover hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Londonderry struggles in that department as they've averaged .350. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dover might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Londonderry in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Green Wave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
