Haywood and Bolivar Central are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Haywood Tomcats are on the road again on Friday and plays the Bolivar Central Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Haywood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday.
Last Friday, Haywood had to suffer through a rough 70-32 loss at the hands of Fayette Ware.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Zakaeria Diggs, who scored no points along with two steals. Macie Ferrell was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Even though Bolivar Central has not done well against Fayette Ware recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Bolivar Central managed a 57-52 victory over Fayette Ware. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Bolivar Central.
Haywood's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Bolivar Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season.
Haywood might still be hurting after the 65-40 loss they got from Bolivar Central in their previous matchup back in January. Can Haywood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
