The El Segundo Eagles will face off against the North Saxons at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as El Segundo comes in on five and North on three.
On Monday, El Segundo was able to grind out a solid win over Banning, taking the game 7-4.
The team relied heavily on Marilyn McCaverty, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Sullivan McLaughlin, who went 2-for-3 with one triple.
Meanwhile, North won against Leuzinger on Tuesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Saxons never let Cerritos get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Saxons, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Isis Jones, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Cerritos off the board. Jones has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Corina Alvillar was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Gianna Quezada, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
North hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive contests.
El Segundo now has a winning record of 6-5. As for North, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. El Segundo hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. However, it's not like North struggles in that department as they've averaged .350. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
El Segundo got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against North by a conclusive 11-2 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Saxons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
