The Lewisburg Patriots entered their tilt with the DeSoto Central Jaguars with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lewisburg came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 47-37 on Thursday. Given Lewisburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Jaguars are ranked 126th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Allison Irby continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. She is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Izzy Goss, who scored nine points.
Lewisburg has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for DeSoto Central, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.
