The Fort Walton Beach Vikings lost against the Crestview Bulldogs back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Fort Walton Beach took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crestview. Fort Walton Beach has struggled against Crestview recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Fort Walton Beach still got an impressive performance from Eddie Love, jr, who rushed for 213 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. Love, jr was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards. Johnny Lewis jr was another key contributor, rushing for 87 yards on only eight carries.
Crestview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Patrick Rodgers led the charge by rushing for 104 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown. Rodgers has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last three times he's played. Manwell Robinson also helped out as he racked up 123 rushing yards.
Fort Walton Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Crestview, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.
Fort Walton Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Crestview also has no future games currently scheduled.
