Softball Recap: Coleman Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

Coleman's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Wausaukee Rangers. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Makenzie Nowak spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Annabell Markiewicz was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Alyssa Kurth was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Coleman is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Wausaukee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Coleman is taking a road trip to challenge Appleton East at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wausaukee, they will host Niagara at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
