The Terrell County Greenwave pushed their score all the way to 62 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mitchell County. It was the first time this season that Terrell County let down their fans at home.
Defeat or not, Terrell County got some senior leadership from Shaheed Huckaby who scored 20 points and Zayveon Lee who scored 15 points. The match was Huckaby's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keavante Anderson, who scored eight points.
Terrell County's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3. As for Mitchell County, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.
Terrell County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lee County at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th. Lee County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Terrell County likes a good challenge. Mitchell County will be home for the holidays to greet Miller County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Miller County will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
