Meanwhile, Stamford made easy work of Weston on Wednesday and carried off a 75-53 victory. Given Stamford's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Weston is ranked 91st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Stamford's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ejai Presley , who almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, nine rebounds, and ten assists. Those ten assists set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Damar Taylor , who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
New Fairfield's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Stamford, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
