West Sequoia recap October 8, 2013
Caruthers scaled the state rankings by moving to 761 from 807 this week, the biggest jump in West Sequoia. The Blue Raiders were able to move up by falling to Liberty 34-21.
Fowler fell to Central Valley Christian 55-19 last week, the largest margin of any game. Thomas Valle threw for 44 yards and 1 touchdown in the loss.
Thanks to the talents of Keenan Reardon and Zak Clayton, Minarets has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Reardon is tops in the league in passing with 239 yards, while Clayton has rushed for 261 yards this season. Fowler's Blake Brisco leads the league in receiving yards with 244 on 19 catches.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Steve Nelson's team takes on Parlier. The Redcats are currently in fifth, while the Panthers are in first.
Caruthers made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,914 from 11,488. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 34-21 victory over Tom Casanova's team last week.
