The Desert Edge Scorpions posted their biggest win since November 24, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 59-33 margin over Westview. The win made it back-to-back wins for Desert Edge.
Desert Edge can attribute much of their success to Aysja Ward, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Monica Orozco, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Desert Edge's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8. As for Westview, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Desert Edge will head out on the road to challenge Verrado at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Verrado will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Desert Edge is ranked 105th). As for Westview, they will be playing at home against Canyon View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
