The Allegany-Limestone Gators had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 43-33 win over Otto-Eldred.
Despite the loss, Otto-Eldred still got an impressive performance from Carrie Drummond, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Drummond has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayel Hakes, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds.
Allegany-Limestone's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Otto-Eldred, they have fallen quite a ways from their 25-3 record last season and are now at 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Allegany-Limestone will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jamestown at 4:15 p.m. on December 30th. As for Otto-Eldred, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bradford at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
