Hermleigh has gone 8-2 against Ira recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Tuesday. The Hermleigh Cardinals will welcome the Ira Bulldogs  at 6:00  p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication,  the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Saturday, Hermleigh made easy work of Munday  and carried off  a  23-4 victory. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Cardinals.

 Peyton Miller made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out nine batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   one  hit. She has been consistent  recently: she hasn't  tossed less than nine  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with four  stolen bases, four  runs,  and five  RBI.
 In other batting news, Hermleigh got a  massive  performance out of  Brooklyn O'Quin, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, six  RBI,  and one  stolen base. O'Quin is  crushing it when it comes to  stolen bases: she's   stole at least one every time she's  taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was  Hailey Minton, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Ira had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They won by a  run and slipped past Borden County  12-11. The game was the first time the Bulldogs have beaten the Coyotes on their field since May 13, 2017.
 The team  relied heavily on  Ella Robertson, who  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Hayden Murdock, who  scored two  runs and  stole four bases.
Hermleigh now  has a winning record of 2-1. As for Ira, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
 Hermleigh took their  victory against Ira  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2022 by a conclusive  12-0. Will Hermleigh repeat their success,  or does  Ira have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
