Iroquois hasn't had much luck against Youngsville recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Braves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Iroquois will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Liam Gehrlein-Carpenter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cole Bennett, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Ethan Alderson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Iroquois was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Youngsville had just enough and edged out Jamestown 16-14 on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly two runs.
Like Iroquois, Youngsville also got a great game from a two-way player: Cole Johnson. He didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Johnson also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Youngsville is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Braydon Baker was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, six RBI, and four runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Bryce Spinks, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Youngsville has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Iroquois, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-12.
Iroquois couldn't quite finish off Youngsville in their previous meeting back in April and fell 3-1. Will the Braves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
