Fort Mill won against Waccamaw  on Friday with five  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Saturday. The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  5-3  victory over the Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles. The Yellow Jackets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the War Eagles, too.
 Tucker Gandy tossed a big game,   tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits. That's the fewest  earned runs  he has allowed since back in April of 2024.
 At the plate,  Braden Richardson was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with one  triple and two  RBI. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in April of 2024.  Michael Rogers was another key player,  going 1-for-4 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.

The  win was  the fourth in a row (dating back to last season) for Fort Mill, bringing their record for this year to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-2 with the  loss, which was their fifth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Mill will face off against Catawba Ridge at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday. This will  be Fort Mill's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Midland Valley  at 7:30  p.m.  on Monday.
