The Rensselaer Central Bombers are taking a road trip to challenge the Tri-County Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Rensselaer Central will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Twin Lakes, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Bombers were the clear victors by a 16-8 margin over the Indians on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bombers.

Kami Davis was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Rensselaer Central got a massive performance out of Brynn Hannon, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Kaylynn Luttrell also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
Meanwhile, Tri-County came tearing into Monday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Gophers as they made off with a 13-6 win.
Like Rensselaer Central, Tri-County also got a great game from a two-way player: Madilyn Nevitt. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Nevitt was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Bella Dominguez was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Jayden Martin was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Tri-County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Tri-County's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.8 runs this season. As for Rensselaer Central, their record now sits at 5-3.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rensselaer Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .387. However, it's not like Tri-County struggles in that department as they've averaged .398. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Rensselaer Central couldn't quite finish off Tri-County in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can the Bombers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
