The Simeon Wolverines will take on the Taft Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Simeon will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Simeon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Ogden International 9-3. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Christian Lott tossed a big game, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Simeon is undefeated when Lott allows two or fewer earned runs, but 8-10-1 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Ben Johnson and Antwan Jackson did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Jackson went 2-for-3 with five RBI and one double. That's the most runs Johnson has posted since back in May of 2024. Cavion Danley was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Simeon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Taft, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past Solorio 3-2.
Taft also got a great performance from Danny Marr as he struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Marr has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Taft's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Giuseppe Lampignano Aguero, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Simeon's victory bumped their record up to 15-10-1. As for Taft, they now have a winning record of 16-15.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Simeon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Taft struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Simeon's way against Taft in their previous matchup back in May of 2021, as Simeon made off with a 12-2 win. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
