The Lingle-Fort Laramie Doggers stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Southeast, posting a 71-39 win at home. Given Lingle-Fort Laramie's advantage in MaxPreps' Wyoming basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Cyclones are ranked 43rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lingle-Fort Laramie was led to victory by Brody Roberts and Brady Cook. Roberts scored 17 points along with seven steals and five assists, while Cook scored 25 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Cook has been hot recently, having posted 20 or more points the last four times he's played. Ned Nelson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Southeast's loss came despite strong showings from TJ Moats and Ayden Desmond. Moats scored 14 points along with eight rebounds, while Desmond scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals. Desmond also posted two blocks for the first time this season.
Lingle-Fort Laramie's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Southeast, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.
Lingle-Fort Laramie will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Niobrara County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Southeast, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Broncs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burns has now lost 16 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7.
