The Sound Christian Lions came tearing into Wednesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 66-53 win over Summit Classical Christian School. This was payback for Sound Christian, who suffered a 56-53 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sound Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than David Mesler, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Mesler's fourth in a row with at least ten points. AJ Alexeev was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Sound Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Summit Classical Christian School, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sound Christian will face off against Northwest Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Northwest Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Summit Classical Christian School, they will head out on the road to face off against Evergreen Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
