Basketball Game Preview: Legion Preparatory Academy Bulldogs vs. Kinkaid Falcons

The Legion Preparatory Academy Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the Kinkaid Falcons at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Legion Preparatory Academy sitting on three straight victories and Kinkaid on four.

Legion Preparatory Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Dyersburg, who was ranked 17th in their home state at the time (Legion Preparatory Academy was ranked eighth). Legion Preparatory Academy walked away with a 59-52 win over Dyersburg two weeks ago.

Rieyan DeSouze was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted 17 points. Those 17 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylie Carr, who scored 11 points.

Meanwhile, Kinkaid humbled St. John's with an 89-25 victory. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 games by 21 points or more this season.

Kinkaid's victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-9. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.3 points per game. As for Legion Preparatory Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
