The West Florence Knights suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Wilson, falling 74-30. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points West Florence has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why West Florence lost, one person who can't be blamed is Karon Brown. Despite the final result, he scored seven points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
West Florence struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Wilson racked up 18 assists.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wilson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josh Leonard, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Leonard is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Thompson, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
West Florence bumped their record down to 5-11 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Wilson, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.
West Florence will take on Johnsonville at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Johnsonville is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Wilson, they will take on Lancaster at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Lancaster is ranked 28th, while Wilson is ranked 12th).
