EJ Ruffin Delivers Best Performance of Season

On Friday, Ayden - Grifton got the W thanks in part to EJ Ruffin playing the best football he has all season. Ruffin rushed for 174 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making nine total tackles and defending a pass.

Ayden - Grifton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. Ruffin and Ayden - Grifton will play host again on Friday to welcome SouthWest Edgecombe, where kickoff is scheduled at 7:00 p.m.

Davis Made His Presence Known in West Craven's 45-18 Victory

West Craven's four-game losing streak is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to DJ Davis. Davis was unstoppable on Friday, rushing for 123 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 111 yards and two touchdowns. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

This season, Davis has thrown 13 touchdowns while averaging 195.1 passing yards per game.

Keondrick Melton Turns in Another Game with at Least 104 Rushing Yards

Keondrick Melton's rushing tear continued on Friday as he dropped his sixth-straight game with 104+ rushing yards dating back to last season. He rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns.

Washington's loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4. Melton and Washington will challenge North Pitt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Elijah Able Goes Supernova in Farmville Central Defeat

While Elijah Able delivered a dominant effort on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Farmville Central. Nobody could stop Able as he rushed for 173 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards.

If the past is any indication, Able could be in store for another big game when he takes on Greene Central on Friday. Able rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also caught a touchdown the last time he and the Rams duked it out back in October of 2023.

Malik Brown Turns in Season-Best Performance

On Friday, West Craven got the W thanks in part to Malik Brown playing the best football he has all season. Brown rushed for 167 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

Brown is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Greene Central on Friday. When Brown last faced the Rams back in October of 2023, he rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also picked up 58 receiving yards.
