Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central Arkansas Christian). They put the hurt on the Episcopal Wildcats with a sharp 14-4 win on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Jaden Rice made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Brady Grice looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Central Arkansas Christian got a massive performance out of Hudson Ritchie, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Ritchie a new career-high. Mason Welsh was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBI.
Central Arkansas Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
