The biggest upset of the week belonged to Richmond Hill, who took down 62nd ranked Richmond Hill, 16-14.
Bradwell Institute was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to sixth in AAAAA Region 3. The Tigers defeated Windsor Forest 13-10 earlier in the week.
The Wildcats' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dominique Allen threw for 30 yards and Nick Fitzgerald had 25 yards receiving. On the ground David Katzman chipped in 116 yards. Hank Ferendo helped Richmond Hill's passing attack out by catching one ball for five yards.
Groves's Jessie Robbins and Thomas Fields have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Robbins has thrown for 399 yards this season, while Fields, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 10 catches for 190 yards. Richmond Hill's Katzman leads the league in rushing yards with 580.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Ware County takes on second place Richmond Hill. Last week, Ware County topped Jenkins, while the Wildcats lost to Effingham County.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Gators take on Richmond Hill. Ware County has allowed 53 points this season, while the Wildcats have given up 39. The Gators allowed 6 points last week as they defeated the Warriors.
Ware County extended the longest winning streak in AAAAA Region 3 this week by beating Jenkins, 49-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Gators.
