The Hillcrest Huskies lost against the Murray Spartans back in February of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Hillcrest took a 52-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Murray.
Hillcrest's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Miller, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. Rhett Robinson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Murray to victory, but perhaps none more so than Deacon Poole, who scored 12 points along with six assists and two steals. Poole has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinton Christman, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Hillcrest now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Murray, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
Hillcrest will head out on the road to take on Stansbury at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Murray, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jordan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
