Volleyball Recap: Upper Merion Area Wins Going Away Against Norristown

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pope John Paul II, Upper Merion Area was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Norristown Eagles as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Vikings yet this season.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-17, 25-9.

Among those leading the charge was Valeria Paneto, who had 12 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August.

Paneto wasn't the only good server: Upper Merion Area was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Upper Merion Area's win bumped their record up to 7-8-1. As for Norristown, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Upper Merion Area will head out to take on Upper Perkiomen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Norristown, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Owen J. Roberts at 5:00 p.m. on October 1.
