On Saturday, Bacon Academy came up short against Simsbury and fell 32-24. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bacon Academy has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Bacon Academy saw an underclassman step up: Skyelyn Schoen-rene scored ten points along with three steals.
Bacon Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Simsbury, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bacon Academy will square off against East Lyme at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Lyme comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Simsbury, they will head out on the road to take on Farmington at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Farmington will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 51st, while Simsbury is ranked first).
